Bikaner News : Assault on Congress City President; Former CM Gehlot Demands Immediate Arrest by Police

Bikaner: Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has condemned the assault on Bikaner City Congress District President and former IPS officer Madan Gopal Meghwal, which took place on Wednesday, and has called for immediate action against the accused.

It is noteworthy that Meghwal had arrived on Wednesday to inaugurate the office of Navratan Daga, the Congress candidate from Ward 50. During the event, party workers slapped and punched him.

Called out under the pretext of a welcome—According to Meghwal, Mohit Arora and three of his associates called him out of Daga's office under the guise of garlanding and welcoming him. They then asked, "Why wasn't I given the ticket?" following which all four of them attacked him.

Meghwal alleges that the attackers were Congress workers. Through this incident, the party has proven that it does not give tickets to goons.

- The assault on Shri Madan Gopal Meghwal, President of the Bikaner City District Congress Committee, is deeply unfortunate, and I condemn it in the strongest terms. Such behavior and actions constitute indiscipline and are unacceptable. The youths who assaulted Shri Meghwal cannot be Congress members, as this shameful act goes against the culture and ideology of the Congress party. The police must arrest them immediately and take action. -

While there may be room for differences of opinion in politics, violence and hooliganism cannot be tolerated at all. The police and administration must immediately identify and arrest the culprits and ensure legal action is taken. -
