Bikaner, September 1. Food cooking in massive vessels early in the morning, rotis emerging from machines, and meal packets being packed one after another—this is not a hotel kitchen, but the centralized kitchen serving 225 government schools, from where mid-day meals are prepared and dispatched for thousands of children.
On Tuesday, Zila Parishad CEO and SVEEP In-charge Shailja Pandey paid a surprise visit to the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s centralized kitchen. Her unannounced inspection revealed the full picture of the meal preparation and distribution system in operation.
Upon arriving at the centralized kitchen located within the DIET complex, Shailja Pandey closely observed the entire process—from food preparation and packaging to delivery to the schools. She gathered information from officials regarding the ingredients used, cleanliness, food quality, and the distribution system.
