Bikaner News: CEO Shailja Pandey Makes Surprise Visit to 'Kitchen Control Room' Serving 225 Schools

Bikaner, September 1. Food cooking in massive vessels early in the morning, rotis emerging from machines, and meal packets being packed one after another—this is not a hotel kitchen, but the centralized kitchen serving 225 government schools, from where mid-day meals are prepared and dispatched for thousands of children.

On Tuesday, Zila Parishad CEO and SVEEP In-charge Shailja Pandey paid a surprise visit to the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s centralized kitchen. Her unannounced inspection revealed the full picture of the meal preparation and distribution system in operation.

Upon arriving at the centralized kitchen located within the DIET complex, Shailja Pandey closely observed the entire process—from food preparation and packaging to delivery to the schools. She gathered information from officials regarding the ingredients used, cleanliness, food quality, and the distribution system.

Interacting with the kitchen officials and staff, the CEO gained an understanding of the various arrangements and daily operational procedures. She also inspected the storage of ingredients, hygiene protocols, and the processes followed within the kitchen.

During the inspection, the arrangements regarding ingredient storage, cleanliness, and food preparation were found to be smooth and well-organized. Mrs. Pandey emphasized the importance of consistently maintaining food quality and hygiene standards, as well as ensuring that nutritious, high-quality meals reach the students.

Bikaner Chief District Education Officer Mr. Arun Kumar Sharma and District Education Officer (Elementary Education) Mr. Kishan Dan Charan were also present on the occasion. The officials reviewed the centralized kitchen's operations and the systems related to food preparation and distribution.
