Bikaner. The electoral contest for Ward 69 in the Bikaner Municipal Corporation elections concluded even before the voting took place. BJP candidate Leela has been elected unopposed here. Following the rejection of the nomination of Mamta Sansi (associated with the Congress) during the scrutiny process, no valid candidate remained to challenge Leela in Ward 69.

Notably, after failing to secure a ticket from the Congress, Mamta had filed her nomination as an RLP candidate. It was anticipated that her entry into the fray would make the contest in Ward 69 interesting. However, an error in recording the party's name on the nomination paper proved costly for her.

During the scrutiny of nomination papers, the Returning Officer rejected Mamta's application, citing the error regarding the party's name as the grounds for disqualification. With the rejection of her nomination, the electoral landscape of Ward 69 shifted completely, paving the way for BJP candidate Leela's unopposed election.

In Ward 69, where an exciting electoral contest was expected, the race effectively ended abruptly following the nomination scrutiny. A technical error dashed the candidate's electoral aspirations.
