“Good news for farmers! Subsidies available for everything from tractors to farm implements; online applications now open”

Jaipur. The Agriculture Department has launched a major initiative for farmers in Rajasthan. Applications for farm implement subsidies for the year 2025-26 have commenced on the 'Raj Kisan Saathi' portal. Farmers can avail the benefits of this scheme by applying online to purchase advanced agricultural machinery. The Agriculture Department issued a notification regarding this on August 30, 2026.

The objective of this scheme is to save time and labor in farming and make agricultural operations more convenient by providing farmers with modern machinery. According to the department, a subsidy of up to 40–50 percent (depending on the farmer's category) can be granted on the purchase of approved farm implements.

Who gets how much subsidy?

Under the scheme's provisions, a subsidy of up to 50 percent of the implement's cost is provided to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), small and marginal farmers, and women farmers, while farmers in other categories receive up to 40 percent. The actual subsidy amount will depend on the specific implement, its cost, and the scheme's prescribed guidelines.

For certain tractors and power-operated farm implements, the maximum subsidy limit is determined based on the machine's capacity. For instance, implements like chisel ploughs have varying subsidy provisions based on category and capacity.

Land ownership in the farmer's name is mandatory

To avail the benefits of the scheme, the applicant must own agricultural land. In the case of an undivided family, the applicant's name must appear in the revenue records. Additionally, for subsidies on tractor-operated implements, the tractor must be registered in the applicant's name.

For how many implements can a farmer avail the benefit?

According to the department, a farmer can receive a subsidy for a maximum of three different types of farm implements within a single financial year. However, a subsidy for the same type of implement is payable only once every three years.

Documents required for application

Farmers should keep documents such as their Aadhaar card/Jan Aadhaar card and a copy of the Jamabandi (land record) or revenue record ready when applying. In the case of small and marginal farmers, the relevant certificate is required, along with the tractor registration certificate for tractor-operated implements. Bank account details are also mandatory.

Obtain Approval Before Purchasing Agricultural Machinery

The most important point for farmers is that agricultural machinery should not be purchased before receiving administrative approval for the subsidy. According to departmental guidelines, the process begins with an online application. Once administrative approval is issued, the machinery must be purchased from a registered manufacturer or dealer within the stipulated timeframe.

According to the Agriculture Department, farmers are notified about the purchase of machinery—following approval—via mobile messages or through the concerned Agriculture Supervisor. After the purchase, the department conducts a physical verification of the machinery, during which the purchase bill must be presented.

Subsidy Credited Directly to the Farmer's Account

Once the verification process is complete, the approved subsidy amount is deposited online directly into the farmer's bank account. This eliminates the need for farmers to make repeated visits to government offices to collect the subsidy payment.

Online Application; No Need to Submit Files at the Office

The 'Raj Kisan Saathi' portal offers an online facility to apply for subsidy schemes offered by the Agriculture Department and other departments. The Agriculture Department has clarified that subsidy applications must be submitted online, and there is no requirement to submit physical documents or files at the agriculture office. Farmers can apply either independently or through a nearby e-Mitra center.
