Rajasthan Cricket Association Election Schedule Announced; Voting Set for September 29

Jaipur: The long-standing electoral uncertainty within the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) appears to be coming to an end. According to the election schedule submitted to the Rajasthan High Court, RCA elections will be held on September 29, 2026. If a vote is required, the counting of votes and the declaration of results will take place on the same day following the polling.

The election process will commence on September 7, the day the election schedule and the notice for the General Meeting are issued. Subsequently, claims and objections regarding the voter list can be filed between September 12 and 16. The Returning Officer will hear these objections from September 16 to 21. The final voter list will then be published on September 23.

Nominations on September 24; Withdrawal of Candidature by September 28

As per the schedule, candidates for various posts, including the President, will file their nominations on September 24. The scrutiny of nomination papers and the release of the list of eligible candidates will take place the following day, September 25. Candidates will have until September 28 to withdraw their names. If a contest arises, voting will be conducted on September 29.

Path Cleared for Elections After Long Wait

RCA elections had been stalled for a long time due to disputes and administrative procedures. In the absence of elections, the association was being managed by an administrator. With the election schedule now revealed under the supervision of the High Court, hopes for an elected management for the RCA have risen.

A.K. Pandey has been appointed as the Returning Officer for the election, while the schedule was presented to the court on behalf of RCA Administrator Bhaskar A. Sawant.

Cricket Politics Set to Intensify

With the election date finalized, activity within Rajasthan cricket politics is expected to pick up pace. Behind-the-scenes maneuvering and the mobilization of supporters regarding contenders for the posts of President and other positions are likely to begin. The election on September 29 will determine who will take charge of the Rajasthan Cricket Association in the future.
